Neighborhood
Create history in the oldest part of town.
The Financial District offers more than its magnificent architecture. Whether it be an invigorating run through scenic Battery park, a leisurely stroll through the South Street Seaport, or an outdoor brunch on historic Front Street, this neighborhood offers the best of Manhattan. With fine dining, extensive shopping, parks and playgrounds, FiDi has it all- including the most public transportation options in Manhattan. With 12 subway lines, buses, ferries and taxis, no commute is inconvenient.
Let our team share their neighborhood with you through their own eyes

My typical FiDi weekend:
One of my favorite things about the Financial District is the close proximity to several of the city’s best parks. As a marathon runner, I take full advantage of the many places to run in Battery Park, the Hudson River Park, and (when I feel like a challenge) the Brooklyn Bridge. What could be better than a run with a view of the Statue of Liberty?! When I’m not training for a race, I like to stay active at my favorite Bikram Yoga studio on Fulton Street or a spinning class at Equinox.
A Date Night in FiDi:
There are numerous options for a great date night in the Financial District. A martini and live jazz at Capital Grille is always a winner, as are mojitos and tapas at Salud. I love Stone Street’s restaurants for great food and drinks, especially when the weather is nice.
An easy weeknight dinner:
When I just want to relax during the week, there is no place better than the Financial District. I often have friends over for dinner – my apartment is always the meeting place because everyone can get here with ease. We frequently order dinner from some of the neighborhood’s best restaurants – Harry’s Italian, Haru, or one of the many other great restaurants in the area. Order a movie from Netflix on demand, and it’s an easy, relaxing weeknight with friends.
Where you can find me when I’m not in FiDi:
When I’m not in the Financial District, I am usually in West Village, NoHo, or Nolita – having every subway outside my front door makes it easy to get to any part of the city in just minutes. While I love other areas of the city (I have lived in many other neighborhoods over the years), FiDi feels like home and I am always happy to come back at the end of day.
My Secret FiDi:
There are so many hidden finds in the Financial District. The Elevated Acre is one of my favorite public parks; when it’s warm outside, sometimes I like to grab a sandwich at Baoguette (best Banh Mi in the city on Nassau Street) and have lunch here. It’s located at 55 Water Street – just take the escalator that looks like it goes to nowhere, and you’ll find it. I also love Water Taxi Beach near the South Street Seaport. Only open in the summer, it’s a great place to feel like you’re at the beach without having to travel. Some of my other favorite “secrets” are hidden in plain sight – the architecture in FiDi is incredible. I see something new and interesting while walking around the neighborhood every day.

My typical FiDi weekend:
Having 2 grade school children, I am often out and about in FiDi. Bike riding along the river, sports in BPC or watching a ballgame and enjoying a burger on Stone Street are some of my favorite ways to spend my downtime.
A Date Night in FiDi:
Nothing says “date night” like dinner and a movie. An abundance of restaurants in FiDi and an amazing 11 theater cinemaplex within walking distance, makes it very easy.
An easy weeknight dinner:
Whether dining in or take out, the Steak Frites at Les Halles are a great choice for dinner during the week…not too shabby during the weekends either!
Where you can find me when I’m not in FiDi:
Being steps away from FiDi, TriBeCa is my auxiliary neighborhood of choice. Easy access to Chinatown, Little Italy and SoHo makes these neighborhoods worthy competitors.
My Secret FiDi:
Although it’s not much of a secret, FiDi offers some of the best subjects for photography. As an avid photographer, I find the architecture, landmarks, bridges and waterways a never ending supply of inspiration to capture.
Mitchell Wasser, Director of Residential Leasing
My typical FiDi weekend:
I like to go for a runs along the west side highway up to Chelsea Piers. Sometimes I’ll go hit a few golf balls at the driving range.
A Date Night in FiDi:
Dinner on historic front street at Suteishi or Barbarini, then a quick walk to Brandy Library on North Moore Street in Tribeca for a nightcap.
An easy weeknight dinner:
Nothing like a large pizza margarita from Adrienne’s pizza Bar on Stone Street. (amazing) If that isn’t your thing try the Kobe burger at Zaitzeff on John Street.
Where you can find me when I’m not in FiDi:
After brunch at Café Orlin on St. Marks Street in the East Village I like to walk to SoHo and grab an iced coffee at Aroma on Houston. Possibly jump across the street and take in a movie at the Angelika.
My Secret FiDi:
For all the dog owners out there, right at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge there is a tiny dog run called Fishbridge Gardens, where I like to take my pup on sunny days. It’s a great spot to meet other local dog owners as well.
Daniel Berman, Assistant Project Manager
My typical FiDi weekend:
You can probably find me in Battery Park, Bike riding through the neighborhood, grabbing my camera for some photography or maybe at Whole Foods.
A Date Night in FiDi:
For a special occasion, Cipriani Wall Street or Wall on Water at the Andaz Hotel. Otherwise for something fun, one of the casual hangouts on Stone Street.
An easy weeknight dinner:
During the week, I love to order in from or stop by Harry’s Italian, though one of these days I plan on checking out Fulton which recently opened up nearby.
Where you can find me when I’m not in FiDi:
Brooklyn is at my fingertips, and one of my favorite neighborhoods, Cobble Hill, is only 8 minutes away.
My Secret FiDi:
Not that I want to have to wait on line from now on, but Rosellas Pizza might have the best slice in New York.
